Housing Board Opportunity

Supervisor Bob is seeking a Gainesville District resident that is interested in volunteering to serve on the Prince William County Housing Board.  The PWC Housing Board is a separate administrative Housing Board responsible for overseeing and directing the implementation of housing and community development programs administered by OHCD; expenditure of housing funds, as budgeted and appropriated by the Board of County Supervisors (BOCS); and the development of recommendations and goals to address housing needs in Prince William County. The Housing Board membership consists of 14 members serving at the pleasure of the BOCS: Of those, eight members appointed by the BOCS (one from each Magisterial District & one at-large) and six other members to be appointed by the BOCS, each to be nominated by the following entities: Commission on Aging; Committee for Persons with Disabilities; Community Services Board; Continuum of Care Network; Social Services Board; Housing Board to select Resident of Housing Choice Voucher Program, upon consideration of recommendation by OHCD Director. 

The Housing Board meets the second Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm at McCoart Building in Woodbridge and its members serve without compensation.  If you are interested in serving, please email a brief resume and contact information to Rebecca Bare at rbare@pwcgov.org
